Over the course of 2017, Rayner marked the ten year anniversary for receiving CE approval for the following IOLs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/supplementary\/sulcoflex-aspheric\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Sulcoflex\u00a0Aspheric<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/monofocal-iols\/c-flex-superflex-aspheric-monofocal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">C-<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0Aspheric<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/monofocal-iols\/c-flex-superflex-aspheric-monofocal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Super<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0Aspheric<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/multifocal\/m-flex-multifocal-and-m-flex-t-multifocal-toric\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">M-<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0T Multifocal Toric<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Milestone one:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sulcoflex\u00a0Aspheric Supplementary IOL: A solution to a very real surgeon pain point.<br \/>\n<\/strong>With advanced IOL design and modern surgical techniques, an exact refractive result following cataract surgery with implantation of an IOL is a reasonable expectation. However, even the most careful biometry and surgery can result in a less than optimal patient outcome.<\/p>\n<p>Invented by\u00a0<strong>Professor Michael Amon (Vienna, Austria)<\/strong>, in collaboration with Rayner R&amp;D,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/supplementary\/sulcoflex-aspheric\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Rayner Sulcoflex\u00a0Pseudophakic Supplementary IOLs<\/a>\u00a0are specifically designed to be implanted in the ciliary-sulcus as a secondary implant in the pseudophakic eye, and are indicated for the correction of post-operative residual refractive errors, without the trauma, or increased surgical risk, of an IOL exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the introduction of Sulcoflex,<strong>\u00a0Professor Amon said<\/strong>: &#8220;Besides the numerous indications of the monofocal Sulcoflex, for &#8220;Duet-procedures\u201c, the Sulcoflex platform offers an elegant, reversible option for spectacle independency.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Product launch coming soon:<\/strong>\u00a0Surgeons can expect an exciting new addition to the Rayner Sulcoflex\u00a0family in 2018. Keep a close watch on Rayner in the press for further details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Milestones two &amp; three:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The C-<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0Aspheric &amp; Super<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0Aspheric launch in 2007<br \/>\n<\/strong>An evolution of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/monofocal-iols\/c-flex-superflex-monofocal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">the C-<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>monofocal\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/monofocal-iols\/c-flex-superflex-monofocal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Super<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>monofocal\u00a0models, brought to market in 2003,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/events-br\/en\/iols\/monofocal-iols\/c-flex-superflex-aspheric-monofocal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">the Rayner C-<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0Aspheric and Super<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0Aspheric IOLs<\/a>\u00a0both incorporate Rayner\u2019s aberration neutral optic technology, offering optimal visual quality and functioning visual acuity in all lighting conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Milestone four:<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>A clear patient benefit inspires the introduction of M-<em>flex<\/em>\u00a0T Multifocal Toric IOL<br \/>\n<\/strong>Standard multifocal IOLs are often associated with sub-optimal results in patients with significant corneal astigmatism.
