{"id":21183,"date":"2024-03-25T09:22:53","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T09:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.rayner.com\/?p=21183"},"modified":"2024-11-11T15:15:43","modified_gmt":"2024-11-11T15:15:43","slug":"rayner-announces-packaging-updates-to-reduce-environmental-impact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rayner.com\/global\/rayner-announces-packaging-updates-to-reduce-environmental-impact\/","title":{"rendered":"Rayner announces packaging updates to reduce environmental impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/global\/about-us\/\">Rayner<\/a>, a global manufacturer of products for cataract surgery headquartered in Worthing, UK, is proud to introduce their latest packaging, updated to reduce their carbon footprint, as a contribution to their environmental goals, and to improve ease of use for customers.<\/p>\n<p>The new packaging will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Replacing traditional paper IFU documents with a QR code to enable downloading of the relevant eIFU instead, which will result in the elimination of 35 tonnes of paper every year.<\/li>\n<li>Switching from a plastic tray and lid container to a pouch, resulting in an 83% reduction in single-use plastic packaging waste.<\/li>\n<li>A 30% reduction in energy usage due to changes to the manufacturing process.<\/li>\n<li>Updates to the carton to improve tamper-proofing and robustness during transport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These improvements contribute to Rayner\u2019s ESG goals for 2024, following recent recognition as being in the top 17% of companies in the 2023 EcoVadis ratings.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Clover, Rayner CEO, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Environmental responsibility is important at <a href=\"https:\/\/rayner.com\/global\/\">Rayner<\/a>.
