Tim Clover
Chief Executive Officer
Tim has spent 30 years in the international ophthalmic business with experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, services, digital healthcare and private equity.
Following an earlier career at Zeiss and Allergan/AMO, Tim was CEO of Moonray Healthcare, a proprietary capital fund at Fidelity, investing in medical technology and healthcare services.
Tim was appointed to the Rayner board in 2014 to lead a strategic expansion plan. He successfully led an MBO by Phoenix Equity Partners in 2017 and an SBO by CVC Capital Partners in 2021. During his tenure, Rayner has pursued a growth strategy based on innovation, expansion of its international direct footprint and concluded several acquisitions to expand and diversify the company into a global leader in eye care.
After years of rugby and Ironman triathlons, Tim’s knees now limit his passion to K1 kayak racing, which he enjoys most weekends.
Geoff Allan
Chief Financial Officer
Geoff joined Rayner in April 2023 with over 35 years of international finance and legal experience and has worked in venture capital, investment banking and in operational roles, notably in the technology and healthcare sectors.
Most recently, Geoff was CFO of the Paris based global healthcare company, HRA Pharma, where he spent over 11 years and was responsible for finance, tax, legal affairs, and procurement. Geoff was closely involved in the sale of the business to two leading private equity firms – Astorg and Goldman Sachs – in 2016. Under their ownership, HRA completed several acquisitions, notably those of the blister market leader Compeed and of the leading US scar care brand Mederma and saw revenues grow eight times. Geoff was highly involved in the negotiations for sale of HRA to the US listed consumer healthcare company, Perrigo, for $2.1 billion in 2022.
Geoff holds law degrees from King’s College, University of London and from the Sorbonne in Paris. He is a keen skier and enjoys spending time with his family, getting to the gym, and watching rugby.
David Forsythe
Chief Operating Officer
David joined Rayner in August 2017. David has spent over 30 years working in the Medical Device market and brings to Rayner extensive knowledge of Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Distributing medical devices.
David has had over 5 years’ experience on Stryker’s European leadership team with responsibility for Operations, and RA/QA. During this time the European leadership team transformed the business, significantly improving sales and operational performance.
One significant achievement was the restructure of the operations team which through improved supply chain processes significantly improved service levels to customers, while reducing the inventory.
David is a very keen golfer and runner in his spare time.
Rob Nadler
Chief Growth Officer
Rob joined Rayner in November 2021. Rob has spent 18 years working in the finance industry and ophthalmology clinical practice.
Rob spent over a decade advising healthcare companies on strategic and financial matters. He was previously at William Blair where he was the Head of Medtech in Europe. Prior to William Blair, Rob was a member of the Global Healthcare M&A teams at Perella Weinberg Partners, Nomura and commenced his banking career at Lehman Brothers. He holds a medical and science degree from Imperial College and trained as an ophthalmic surgeon practising in the UK.
Rob is a keen tennis player and between matches likes spending time with his young children.
Chris Willis
Chief Marketing Officer
Chris joined Rayner in February 2021 as Vice President of Marketing, responsible for the groups marketing and clinical departments globally.
Since graduating Chris has spent over 20 years working in the medical device industry, with the last 15 years in global ophthalmology. Chris’s marketing career started at 3M Health Care, spending 5 valuable years in their UK medical markets division, followed by 5 years with Bausch & Lomb surgical, where Chris was responsible for marketing across EMEA before being relocated to the Bausch Surgical’s global headquarters in Southern California to introduce the MICS Platform and head up global marketing. Since his time in the US, Chris has led the global commercialisation of new and innovative technology such as the KAMRA inlay and IC-8 IOL from AcuFocus, led a turnaround for Optos (Nikon Medical) in the UK and Nordics and launched the EyeMax Mono IOL on behalf of Syneos Health Commercial Solutions.
While not living medical devices, Chris enjoys spending time with his young family, being outdoors and both watching and playing sport as often as possible.
James Crutchlow
Chief Commercial Officer
James joined Rayner in 2008 from Pfizer where he specialised in pharmaceutical sales. He has held several commercial roles at Rayner, both domestic and international. In December 2019, James relocated back to the UK from New York where he had established our direct US presence Rayner Surgical Inc. James is well versed in similar projects having led on Rayner’s direct entry into Iberia, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, and as recently as 2022, Poland and France. In his role as Chief Commercial Officer, James is responsible for overseeing Rayner’s global commercial strategy and revenue growth, working closely with Marketing and Customer Success to scale and maintain competitive advantage.
James has >20 years life sciences experience, is a Business Postgraduate from the University of Warwick and holds a BA (Hons) degree from UCLAN. As a senior member of Rayner’s Executive Committee and Management Boards, James can be relied on to deliver the objectives set for growth across Rayner’s global markets.
James is a keen runner and enjoys spending his spare time exploring the many trails in Surrey.
Nat Davies
Vice President Research & Development
Nat joined Rayner in 2004, gaining experience across multiple areas including new product development, equipment design, project management, risk management, clinical writing and program governance. He later earned a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, which supported his step up into a leadership role.
In his current position, Nat is responsible for overseeing all new product development activities at Rayner. Under his leadership, a growing team of world-class researchers, engineers, scientists, and project managers have designed and launched more than 13 leading ophthalmic devices since 2015. This includes the RayOne, EMV and Galaxy IOL families, which have driven significant company growth.
Nat is currently expanding Rayner’s research and product development programs internationally, and is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of ophthalmology with innovations in new areas, including next-generation IOL technologies, novel OVDs and exciting phaco products.
Outside of work, Nat enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and supporting his local football team, Brighton & Hove Albion.
Claire Rendell
Vice President Human Resources
Claire brings extensive experience in HR leadership and organizational development, with a background spanning the aerospace, manufacturing, and medical device sectors. She has been instrumental in fostering high-performance work cultures within fast-growing, commercially driven businesses, particularly those expanding through mergers and acquisitions. Her expertise includes establishing legal entities in new markets and managing the associated people strategies, as well as leading successful post-merger integrations with a strong focus on talent management and value creation through people.
Since joining Rayner in December 2020, Claire has played a critical role in embedding the company’s values-driven culture, ensuring teams have a strong sense of purpose and direction to achieve business goals collaboratively. Prior to Rayner, she was a key member of the executive leadership team at Acro Aircraft Seating and held international HR leadership roles at CR Bard (now Becton Dickinson), overseeing regional HR strategies across E/EMEA.
A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Claire is passionate about building engaged, high-performing teams. Outside of work, she enjoys long countryside walks with her dog.
Kuntal Joshi
Vice President International Markets
Kuntal joined Rayner in October 2022 as Vice President, International Markets, responsible for the commercial success of Rayner’s growing business and extensive growth plans in the international markets.
Kuntal has close to 30 years of varied sales, marketing and senior management experience in medical devices and specifically ophthalmology. Having worked for Ethicon, part of Johnson & Johnson, NIDEK, Alcon, Bausch + Lomb over the last 30 odd years; Kuntal brings to the team a deep understanding of global commercial markets and ophthalmology from diagnostics to surgical and pharmaceutical products.
Kuntal brings to the team a deep understanding of the commercial markets with extensive experience and successes across many geographies, including Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa, United States & South America. Kuntal has lived in various parts of Africa, the US, Australia and most recently Singapore.
He has a post graduate degree / MBA in Business Management & International Studies.
Kuntal is a keen cyclist and scuba diver and enjoys the outdoors and in his spare time is a student of wines through the WSET program.
Alan Hemmant
General Counsel
Alan started at Rayner in December 2015, joining as a senior legal counsel with a combination of both private practice and in-house experience. Alan is dual-qualified as a solicitor and trade mark attorney, and is an associate member of the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.
Whilst in private practice, Alan gained significant experience as an associate solicitor in corporate, compliance, commercial and intellectual property matters at a major regional law firm, representing clients across a number of industries. Alan’s in-house experience prior to joining Rayner was as legal counsel at a research-intensive university, advising on a broad range of commercial/IP arrangements including industry collaborations, clinical trials, IP licensing, consortium and investment agreements. Since Alan joined Rayner, the business has grown at an incredible pace – during this time Alan has overseen the M&A activity of the group, as well as managing the expanding legal operations required of a high-growth business.
Whilst away from work, Alan enjoys keeping active with his young family, spending time in the gym and exploring the South Downs.
Scott Corning
Vice President Americas
Scott joined Rayner in September 2024 with 25 years of experience developing and driving successful brands and commercial teams within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Notably, Scott served as Senior Vice President, Commercial at Ocular Therapeutix to contribute to company strategy and lead their commercial effort. His breadth of experience will enable him to support Rayner’s continued focus on optimizing visual outcomes for surgeons and their patients across the United States, Canada and beyond. Scott enjoys ice hockey, both playing and coaching his three growing children. The family also enjoys skiing in the winter and spending summers on the water in New Hampshire.
Iain Reid
Vice President Europe
Iain joined Rayner early in 2020. With over 17 years’ experience across the UK ophthalmology sectors including several years at Bausch and Lomb, Optos, Zeiss and most recently leading one of the largest ophthalmology distributor providers in the UK. His time in ophthalmology has enabled him to develop a strong and broad understanding of the Market. During Iain’s time at Rayner he has had significant success in several leadership positions driving consistent year-on-year growth, overseeing the launch of new products into the market, and rolling out a new sales structure into the UK & Ireland. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team Iain is now responsible for driving growth strategy across all European markets. Iain leads an active personal life, being a keen runner and cyclist whilst also enjoying time with his young family.
Jon Dore
Vice President Operations
Jon joined Rayner in January 2025. Jon has over 20 years’ experience in operational management and gained a deep understanding of the Ophthalmic Industry having contributed to significant growth and multi-site expansion in both the UK and Europe for several private ophthalmology providers. Throughout his career Jon has been passionate about continually improving the patient experience and achieving superior clinical outcomes for patients. Jon leads an active personal life, being a keen golfer, cyclist and spending time with his three children.
Chris Heath
IT Director, Strategy & Operations
Chris Heath has been the IT Director Strategy & Operations at Rayner since April 2024.
With over twenty-five years’ experience in IT and Technical Operations senior leadership working across a number of different industry sectors and with the last five years focused in HRA Pharma based in Paris and prior to this delivery managed services to the likes of Barclaycard. Chris has significant experience in delivering strategic direction, transformation projects and continuous service improvement associated with IT service delivery for both Corporate IT and external customer contracts. Chris’s role includes the IT strategy and vision to better support all functions in their capacity to deliver our ambition and face our challenges.
As part of his spare time Chris enjoys watching Football & Rugby, walking, and going to the gym.
Martin Ma
Vice President Finance
Martin joined Rayner in 2019 with over 20 years of experience in finance, he has a strong track record in financial leadership, M&A, and strategic growth.
Prior to Rayner, Martin held a senior finance role at Strutt & Parker, where he played a key role in the sale of the business to BNP Paribas in 2017 and subsequently led the post-acquisition integration of its Residential Agency division.
Since joining Rayner, Martin was promoted to Vice President of Finance to lead the integration of the largest asset acquisition in Rayner’s history—a U.S.-based pharmaceutical product called Omidria. Also in 2021, he successfully guided Rayner through the sale process to CVC.
Outside of work, Martin enjoys playing golf, running, and taking long dog walks with his family.
Daniel Peek
Director of Regulatory Affairs
Daniel joined Rayner in 2011, after a career working in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Industrial Quality and Regulatory management.
He studied Chemistry (BSc) and Chemical Research (MSc) at University College London, and started working for the NHS before moving to Teva Pharmaceuticals, moving on to CCL Healthcare and Pasante.
Since joining Rayner, he’s built up the present Regulatory Affairs department and now leads a fully global team supporting all three pillars of Rayner 3D (Devices, Drugs and Digital) strategy.
While not at work, Daniel has been active for many years in supporting local Scout groups across our local area, as a senior volunteer. He’s always on the look out for adult volunteers to help train and motivate the next generation.
Elodie Rottier
Global Supply Chain Director
Born in France, Elodie moved to England in 2003 after receiving her postgraduate degree in Production Management from the IAE de Caen in Normandy. With over 15 years of experience across various industries, she joined Rayner in 2017 and has held various roles within the company before being appointed Global Supply Chain Director in 2024.
In her time at Rayner, Elodie has led strategic initiatives to optimise operations, enhance customer service, and strengthen Rayner’s global supply chain network. She focuses on improving efficiency, supporting international expansion, and ensuring Rayner’s supply chain remains resilient and adaptable in a rapidly evolving market.
Elodie is passionate about building strong, diverse teams across the world to drive global success and foster innovation within the Supply Chain.
Outside of work, Elodie loves traveling around the world, exploring new cultures, spending time with family and building Lego models.
