Sophi’s Triple Pump Fluidics deliver continuous monitoring and
IOP control for optimised chamber stability, case after case.
The centre piece of every Phaco device is the pumping system for stable chamber fluidics, or for Sophi more specifically, the pumping systems — Sophi has three combined into one: 1. IOP Control Pump, 2. Peristaltic Pump, 3. Clean Venturi Pump.
The less energy a Phaco handpiece needs, the less heat is projected into the eye. That is why Sophi controls the handpiece with a sinusoidal signal, which considerably reduces the energy needed, thereby protecting the eye.
Each detail of Sophi focuses on safety — without compromise. Sophi offers an automatic Cassette Slot-In System which reduces the risk of contact between sterile and unsterile areas during loading.
An interface designed around real surgical workflows.
The experience is intuitive.
Adjustments feel natural.
The first battery-powered Phaco system. With Sophi, the entire device is powered by battery, providing mobility which simplifies processes and improves efficiency.
The compressors for vitrectomy and for Clean Venturi aspiration are also integrated into the device, meaning that there’s no need for the usual bulky and inflexible tube to the external compressor.
A wireless connection of the foot pedal via Bluetooth is standard. But Sophi can do more, even enabling you to transmit live microscope images to the display over Wi-Fi.
The best tools don’t demand attention. They earn trust by supporting your surgical flow — from the first patient to the last. With Triple Pump Fluidics for advanced chamber stability, an intuitive interface, and a compact, wireless setup, Sophi is built for efficiency across your entire day.
So you can focus on the surgery,
not the system.
Efficiency is found in the details. Sophi redefines the standard for surgical technology to offer a fully optimised experience.
By transforming day-to-day fluidics management, the system minimises setup complexities, limits operating room waste and drastically reduces turnover delays — keeping your team moving swiftly from one case to the next.
A multi-use Day Cassette designed for use across up to 10 consecutive procedures. With no need to change the cassette between each case, Sophi enables an estimated 307kg reduction in discarded plastic per 1,000 cataract surgeries¹ alongside up to a 17% saving in per-case material costs.
Sophi’s automatic slot-in system draws the cassette in and locks it into place completely hands-free. This speeds up operating room setup and prevents cross-contamination between the assistant and the cassette during insertion. By automatically recognising the transition from air to liquid, the system drastically cuts priming times.
Driven by Sophi’s Multi Sensor System. Because the primary fluidics path remains loaded and active throughout the day, the surgical team completely bypasses traditional, lengthy setup and full priming cycles between cases, saving up to 14 minutes of cumulative OR friction per day.
